Somebody's Got To

This blog is sadly neglected. I admit, I use it mostly as a portal to get to other blogs that I've been too lazy to actually add to mine. So, I decided that somebody's got to post something. I didn't think any of you would mind getting a good look at our handsome boys. Above is Benson rockin' out at one end of the hallway. Below is Brady at the other end showing us his excellent summersault form.
And here is the little sweetie in his beautiful Sunday suit that we got from Aunt LeNell. Dashing, I know.
(and you gotta love the bare feet)

Oh, it is love!

This one fine weekend Mom,  Lyn, B-dell, Stokes, and M-face took a loooong drive to LA. Now, when I say loooooong I mean loooooooong as in L. O. N. G. long. Yes, it took 12 hours... lets just say that you should only go to LA if you have 20 maps of the place. Lyn was pretty ridiculous, yet B-dell still was able to make her laugh and smile...once we reached the condo. Even after seeing her be ridiculous, B-dell proposed. She said "yes." He said "really?" And so, White Christmas in Mesa? Pretty much.

Larry

I woke up this morning at about 9:30 and everybody was still asleep. I couldn't figure out what to do until they woke up. So I went and turned the TV on while I looked through my merit badges that I have mostly done. There wasn't anything on, so I ended up on a random show and I was looking through my merit badges. When I was done, I went through what channels we get about a million times. I was wondering why I wasn't hearing any noise. It was 11:40!!! Turns out, nobody was home. There was a note on the counter, but I didn't see it. I got very bored, so I started making a bird out of the play-doh I got for my birthday. If I am bored and you give me something constructive, it will be very detailed. Especially when I'm that bored. I haven't been that bored in forever. I gave him feathers. It's great. I had fun. I named him Larry. He's pretty great. I haven't had a chance to talk to him. We went to look at a house right as I finished. I know he's great, though. I mean, he's play-doh, how could he not be?

Caps Off to the Graduates

We had several Heywood graduates celebrating this year! Morgan and Bethany from high school, Bethany, Kristalyn, and Liz from college! Way to go everybody! (Liz may not be in the picture, but she certainly deserves celebration!!)

These caps are in celebration of the graduates:
  • Teal & Black - Morgan's Hawk; doubles as Liz's blue for BYU
  • Yellow & Black - Bethany's Wasp
  • Maroon & Gold - Kristalyn's Sun Devil
Mom/Aunt Linda was a genius for creating these desserts! Not only were they absolutely adorable and so festive, but they tasted delicious, to boot!

Congrats grads! Best wishes as we proceed on to the next step!! :)

My Excellent News

It's been a pretty good while since anybody has been on here! I wanted to get on and share some delightful news in the arena of... internship!!! Let me just start by saying that I am a very blessed woman.

There are 10 dietetic intern slots available in this wonderful valley of the sun (15 if you count the five slots requiring 2000 hours of related experience). I was lucky enough to be chosen for one of these 10 highly competitive slots. It is difficult to go to class and see so many who did not get an internship, but I do feel extremely blessed. So, I have officially accepted and begin the internship in August, finishing end of next April.

I am well on the road to becoming a registered dietitian. So many emotions! (I don't want to jinx myself by even saying that I am so close to finishing, but it's exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time!)

Thank you so much for all of your love, support, and encouragement in my endeavors. I have the best family ever!!
