Elder Kyle James Braithwaite
Elder Kyle James Braithwaite received a mission called to the El Salvador, San Salvador West/Belize mission - speaking spanish. This mission includes the western one third of El Salvador and then all of Belize. El Salvador is on the Pacific Ocean side and then Belize is on the Caribbean Sea.
He reports to the MTC on Feb. 10, 2010.
We will post a map of the mission later after we get it copied. He is very excited and is very busy calling friends. More to come....

57 to 9
I am on a basketball team for a league that was put together and we played our old basketball coach for our school. He moved to the new school that was just built. He went into the game talking a little smack to us then we beat them 57 to 9. He left in the 3rd period... He could not bear it any more, he left it to his assistant to do it. I bet he wishes he would have stayed with us!!!
Its ok though because he just picked favorites and our new basketball coach is way way better!!!

allie
What exactly is 7s? It sounds like so much fun! It seems so much easier than ours was! We had to kill, pluck, draw, boil, and debone our chicken! That was a neat experience. It was probably the thing I was looking forward to the most! The hardest thing was the first day when we met our family, assembled our cart, and pulled from about 3 in the afternoon until 2:30 in the morning!!! One thing is for sure...noone complained about sleeping on the rocky ground! And we could barely even get our sleeping gear out! But let me tell you....the chicken broth and roll was the most delicious thing I've ever had! We all slept like babies! I've always wanted to do a knife throw at a target! It sounds so fun! And homemade ice cream. YUM! We did homemade popcorn which turned out so much better than store bought! Your food sounds absolutely divine! the best thing we had was our home-killed chicken stew and fry bread. mmm mmm good! It sounds like you had a blast! Love ya!

sorry here is trek
sorry i have not checked forever.
but trek was way fun. my family was the best. we stayed up till 3am the last night and we were going to pull an all nighter but our company captin came and told us that we had to go to bed because people were complaining that our light was on... that just made me mad. that was my favorite part about trek. i dont have any pictures from it because my ma and pa took all the pictures and just sent us an email with a link to a web site to see them. i have to bear my testimony about trek on sunday... but it is better than having to do a talk. The food was great we had chicken pot pie from dutch ovens... different stuff like that... the activities we did were: 7s, washed our hair, apple bobbing, throwing knifes at targets, made home made ice cream, and in my family we took a little propane tank and stacked matches on top of it like reverse janga. i did not get any blisters... my dad did everything he could before trek to provent that from happening... that is my trek story kind of....

Trek Lips!
Since we are on the subject of "Trek" I had to post this disgusting picture of my lips after Trek last year. Gross huh? If Braithewaite's don't post about the trek soon than I will post some nasty pictures of our Treking feet.

Treking - Brighams Battalion
We (Francie, Kyle, Allison and Mike) are leaving tomorrow for our stake TREK activity. We know very little about the details. I guess that our pioneers ancestors knew very little about what was going to await them also. We plan on having lots of fun. Francie and I are a Ma and Pa and will have 10 or 11 children assigned to our family. We plan to take some ancestors along with us: Kyle is taking Philo Dibble, Allison is taking Sarah Wilkinson Buchanan, Francie is taking Martha Spence and I will be taking John Buchanan. We have a chance to learn about these ancestors and then to share them with our TREK families along the trail.
We plan not to die along the trail as some of our ancestors did but if we go horizontal, please know that we love you all and have thought a lot about many of you as we have prepared. We love our family and cherish the time that we have with each of you.
We will post some pictures when we return.
Till we meet again,
"Cougar" and "Spike" (Mike and Alli - these are our TREK names)

Say a Hot Goodbye to Oddly Cool June
(I found this in the AZ Republic. Too true to not share!)
OK. You can start complaining now.
Summer's here.
It's time to haul out the dry-heat joke book and challenge your friends to see who remembers the most synonyms for "searing."
But look on the (glaringly) bright side. It is a relief to have moved beyond that strange season of disbelief.
Valley residents have spent weeks wondering, "What month is this, anyway?"
We're chilling our way through the coolest June since 1913 with astonished appreciation.
After all, how often does the heat wait to start until after the calendar's official first day of summer?
Now the full weight of the season is upon us with all the wicked certainty of a 180-degree steering wheel.
Some places have winter to endure. Arizona has summer.
Of course, we still have those glorious monsoon storms to enjoy.
And we can look forward to fall.
Not that we're trying to rush things, of course.
But it would be great if the heat ends when the calendar says fall has officially arrived. That's Sept. 22.
Summer arrived by the calendar.
Nobody will complain if it departs in the same way.

10 Secrets of the Effortlessly Thin
As an aspiring dietician, I love seeing articles that share the down to earth basics, not ridiculous "do a million and a half sit-ups a day" or "the cookie diet" sales pitches. So I got pretty excited when I saw this article. (And by pretty excited I mean very excited!!!) Check it out.

It takes time and serious practice listening to the cues being sent by your body, but once you find that groove and have a responsive relationship with your body, it's amazing.

Thank You!
We really enjoyed our trip to Utah, and to see the Braithwaites and Heywoods. Thanks for your kindness! Even though Austin started getting a little homesick the night before the MTC - saying goodbye, and knowing his cousin is coming home 1 1/2 weeks too late to see him was a bit hard on him - it was a great trip overall! We really appreciate all our angels that made this trip possible!!!
