This is an email from my mom, and I thought I would share it with you all.
Dear Roger and Children,
I just wanted to give you a quick update here. Alesya spoke with Valentina this morning. Valentina said she would not forbid me to see Sasha, but it would be best if I did not. I stayed home today, and hope to see her Sunday and next Wed. Valentina told Alesya that the mother is trying to have her rights restored and again the Aunt has said she will take her if the mother cannot. Igor told me that Valentina said we should just give it more time. He will keep in touch will Valentina, and she will let him know when the time is right. We have stirred up the family again. They are hoping (Igor and Valentina) once we go home the family will melt back into the woodwork. I told them about Sasha's dilemma. First she needed to be strong enough to tell her Aunt she wanted to go to America, then she was told that was the wrong thing to do. All I can say is we are all learning, and it is still in the Lords hands. I believe Sasha will be a part of our family. I know she is hurting and wants to come home with us. I hope you will all pray for her to be ministered to by angels. She is in great need of that right now. As for her phone, Valentina did not know it was taken away, and called Sasha into her office about it. The story is not clear, but she is allowed to have it if we can ever find it! Oh, the frustrations I have with this culture!
After I prayed this morning I sat looking outside the window. The snow on the trees is beautiful, and it is the perfect scene for peaceful pondering. Yesterday I saw a beautiful pair of ice skates for sale at the market. I wondered this morning, am I the ice skater or the skates, and which should I be? I need to let the Lord do his work in his own way. Sometimes skating in circles makes something really beautiful. For now, I need to be the skates, unnoticed, moving at the command of the skater. May we be patient in the Lords ways. Pray for doors to be opened, hearts to be soften and angels to attend those in need. Thank you for your prayers. I know Alina is getting excited to meet you all. She is lucky to be coming to all of you. How lucky we are to have each other. I really miss and love you. I feel blessed to call you my family. Thank you!
Hugs and Kisses,
Mom
We really appreciate all of your love and support through all of this. And are so excited to have Alina coming home soon. Please continue to keep both her and Sasha in your prayers.
