Food

Due to all of the health issues I have been having, I started working with a nutritionist. She has me on a strict diet cutting out the things that tend to cause reactions, inflammation, or other problems. After being on the diet for about a month, we will start adding things back in to see if it makes a difference to how I am feeling. The things that make me feel sicker again, will be cut out of my lifestyle, and the things that seem to have no affect can be added in again. A very good program, and I am excited about it because that way I will feel like I have more control over how I am feeling. So currently I am not eating any red meats, gluten, corn including corn derivatives, night shade vegetables which include tomatoes and bell peppers, white potatoes, dairy, and sugar. I eat a lot of brown and wild rice, salmon, lean white meat, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and any other fruits or vegetables. It is hard sometimes. I need more recipes so I don't feel like I am eating the same thing all the time. To help with my need for snacks, I went to Sprouts Marketplace today hoping to find some gluten-free crackers or something I could eat. I did. Except that if it doesn't have gluten, it has corn, if it doesn't have corn, it has potato starch, or sugar. I felt like crying. I know it is much healthier this way, but still... it was a rough realization. If anyone has any recipes with rice, gluten-free grains, vegetables, etc. Let me know. Please! I need something else to eat!!!

My visiting teaching partner is so in to this and makes the most amazing stuff. I'll pick her brain for you. I hope you find the answers in your health quest!

Wow that does not leave a lot of options. That would be hard. I wish I had some good recipes, but all of the stuff I love to eat don't fit into that, sadly.
